The Proposal
The site is well-located in walking distance to primary and secondary schools, a nursery, GP surgery, supermarkets, and public open space. We are progressing an Outline Planning Application and seeking general feedback on principles rather than detail at this stage. The proposal includes:
- Up to 785 new homes including affordable. A range of homes for first-time- buyers, growing families, downsizers, and older people.
- A new spine road would connect site entrances from Oldcotes Road to Leys Lane. We will explore the potential to bring bus services through the scheme to promote sustainable travel. The existing public right of way through the site would also be enhanced.
- New landscaping and significant open green space across the site. The existing woodland on the site would be retained with increased access so more people can enjoy it.
- We would seek to achieve a biodiversity net gain through the development. This would enhance biodiversity habitats on the site.
- A significant financial sum would be generated to support local priorities including health, schools, and community facilities.
- A new sustainable drainage basin will enhance on-site drainage.
